  • Applicators trust Mule-Hide professional grade coatings for long-term performance and ease of application without the use of fabrics.
  • Easy step-by-step application process lets crews finish jobs in record time, water based for simple cleanup.
  • VOC compliant with excellent reflectivity and emissivity.
  • Truly "elastomeric" - many products (paints, aluminum coatings) are being sold as elastomerics even though they don't actually have the properties of a high performance elastomeric coating.
  • Standard System Warranties and Membrane-Only Material Warranties.
Coatings

White Mule-Hide A-300 FINISH Coating has been independently tested to EPA guidelines with results of initial solar Energy Star Partnerreflectance values of up to 86% and 3-year aged values up to 75%; plus emissivity values of 91%. Reflectivity is the percentage of the sun’s heat a roof keeps off a building, and emissivity is the percentage of heat a roof lets out of a building. Can reduce surface temperatures on metal roofs by as much as 50°F.

Disclaimer: When installed properly, this product will help reduce energy costs.  Actual savings will vary based on geographic location and individual building characteristics.  Consult Mule-Hide, your roofing contractor, or call 1-888-STAR-YES (1-888-782-7937) for more information.

Mule-Hide is an ENERGY STAR® Partner and a member of the Cool Roof Rating Council. We're proud of the excellent reflectivity of Mule-Hide Elastomeric Acrylic Coatings.

IMPORTANT NOTES (Details and information subject to change):
When applying coatings over an existing roof under warranty, the building owner should check with existing roofing system manufacturer, as this coating application may void warranty. In all cases, the existing roofing system must be in sound condition. Mule-Hide is NOT responsible for any defects in the existing roofing system. The information herein should not be considered all-inclusive and should always be accompanied by good application practices. The applicator has sole responsibility for the quality of application of the coating system. Mule-Hide requires proper surface preparation of the existing roofing system. To repair blisters, splits, and other surface defects, Mule-Hide recommends that they be repaired in accordance with the published NRCA Repair Manual for Low-Slope Roofing Systems guidelines prior to application of Mule-Hide Elasomeric Coatings.

Cool temperatures and high humidity retard curing. Do not apply Elastomeric Acrylic Coatings if weather conditions will not permit complete cure. Mule-Hide Coatings are NOT intended for use over graveled surfaces (Spudded Roofs are also NOT acceptable.) Refer to Mule-Hide Coatings Specification Manual for details prior to application.

Mule-Hide recommends ADHESION TESTS PRIOR TO COATING to ensure adhesion and compatibility between the coating and the substrate. Mule-Hide also RECOMMENDS a two (2)-coat application. If finished coverage rates exceed two (2) gallons per square, 2 coats are REQUIRED. Product blisters may occur if coatings are applied too thick in high temperatures.

Energy savings from installation of an ENERGY STAR® Roof Product are climate specific and may vary significantly from building to building. The greatest savings will occur in buildings located in hot and sunny climates that have a high roof surface to building volume ration, and lower levels of attic insulation. For more information about the energy savings you can get from installing an ENERGY STAR® Roof Product on your building contact your roof product manufacturer, roofing contractor, or call 1-888-STAR-YES (1-888-782-7937)

The information herein is based upon data and knowledge considered to be true and accurate and is provided for the applicator's consideration, investigation and verification. However, Mule-Hide products are made without knowledge of your particular roof and/or coatings project and such an application may not be fit for your particular purpose. MULE-HIDE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, except written warranties attached to Mule-Hide products and written warranties signed by an officer of Mule-Hide.

    Mule-Hide is climbing the walls.

Nestled on the banks of the Alabama river in Riverfront Park, Montgomery, Alabama, restsImage this grand old grain silo that was built in the mid nineteen-hundreds. In 1990, J.B. Crosby General Contractors remodeled it into an office for the Coast Guard and later for use as part of the Visitor's Center. Years later, the outside walls were in terrible condition. In August of 2000, the Montgomery Department of Property Maintenance decided to refurbish the structure and chose Mule-Hide Elastomeric Acrylic Coatings for the project. Thanks to Mule-Hide, this southern beauty once again stands tall and proud on the banks of this gracious community.

ImageMule-Hide and ABC Supply were proud to have been a part of the restoration of this historic structure. The ABC Supply Commercial Outside Sales Rep along with the Mule-Hide Territory Manager worked together from the initial inspection and system recommendation to assisting the Montgomery crew on proper application and final inspection. The Mule-Hide Coating System was selected for its restoration attributes and its long lifecycle.

Paint and coatings applicators will tell you that cracks in masonry surfaces are as inevitable as death and taxes and many will also say that conventional masonry paints will not solve the cracking problem. That's why paint and coatings applicators throughout the Sun Belt and elsewhere are switching to thicker wall coatings with elastic qualities that can stretch to span cracks that may develop and expand and to provide an effective moisture barrier from wind-driven rain.

ImageThe city maintenance crew of three spent about 2 months tackling the tasks involved. After preparing the concrete the crew filled the cracks with approximately 60 gallons of Mule-Hide A-200 Flashing Grade Sealant. Next they applied 360 gallons of Mule-Hide A-400-W Masonry Wall Coating as a finish coat. Since Mule-Hide manufactures a complete line of Acrylic Coatings, there are no compatibility issues between the sealant and the finish coating. Plus, unlike some wall coatings, the resin used in Mule-Hide A-400-W features the same popular dirt pickup resistance as in Mule-Hide A-300.

Mule-Hide A-400-W Wall Coating represents one of the best-kept secrets. It's easy to apply and opportunities like this one in Riverfront Park exist in many communities.

    • Seals sound EPDM roofs for like-new performance.  [Must first repair roof per NRCA guidelines]
    • Mule-Hide EPDM Restoration System™ , adds years to the life of existing EPDM Roofs.
    • Turns black EPDM into a "COOL ROOF" to offer your customers energy savings while protecting the membrane from the elements.
Energy Efficient Roofs - Mule-Hide white A-300 FINISH has been Energy Star Partnerindependently tested to EPA guidelines with results of initial solar reflectance values up to 86% and 3 year aged values up to 72%; plus emissivity values of 86.4%.  Reflectivity is the percentage of the sun’s heat a roof keeps off a building, and emissivity is the percentage of heat a roof lets out of a building.  Can reduce surface temperatures and interior temperatures. For a building to maximize an internal cool temperature, the roof must keep out a high percentage of solar heat hitting it (reflectivity), and let out a high percentage of the heat it has absorbed (emissivity).
